I’m an experienced and thoughtful childcare provider looking to work full- or part-time in or around New Orleans starting in mid or late August. I recently graduated from Hampshire College in MA, where I focused on painting and history of U.S. social movements. I will be moving to New Orleans in August to attend Tulane part-time. I have worked as a childcare provider and educator since I was 16. In high school I worked at two home daycares in Chicago, which were run by my mother and godmother respectively. Through this experience, I learned about the complexity of fostering the physical, intellectual and emotional development of kids. I have provided childcare for families with children ages 1 to 12 as a babysitter and a long-term nanny. I spent two summers as a full-time nanny (for children ages 4-8). For four summers, I was a counselor for children ages 8-16 at Read more a summer camp in Western Massachusetts. In recent months, I have been volunteering at a shelter for survivors of domestic abuse. At the shelter, my main responsibilities are taking care of children and helping them with their homework. I have experience preparing healthy meals, cleaning homes, running activities and games with kids and tutoring children in elementary school. I am a junior in college and I enjoy painting, collage and film making. Humor, storytelling and visual art are big parts of my daily life and I like to incorporate them into my work as a childcare provider by doing art, dress-up and other fun and creative activities with kids.
