Hi there! My name is Kelly Phillips and I have been caring for different families for over 10 years. I’m available for part-time work and occasional babysitting, so I'll tell you a little more about myself to see if I'm a good fit for your family! Currently, I’m finishing up my Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from UMass Amherst. I will graduate in December and then take my boards in February. I also work as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Berkshire Medical Center in their Emergency Department, but this position is per diem and I am able to make my schedule around other responsibilities/ classes. For 6 years I was a nanny for the same family right here in Pittsfield, and I would be happy to put you in touch with them as a reference. I still love the children dearly and am very close with the family. I Read more have a Bachelors from Emmanuel College in Boston, and after school, I traveled to Southeast Asia where I taught English to Thai children for one year. After I returned, I was accepted into an AmeriCorps program in California, where I lived for a little over 2 years. While out in Lake Tahoe, I worked as a babysitter for a reputable child care service that provided care mostly for families on vacation in the area. After traveling in Central America this fall, I returned to Pittsfield to save some money and take a few pre-requisite courses that I needed to apply to nursing school. I have a dog, so I’m great with animals and love them as much as I love people. I also am very comfortable with children, and have been told that I’m very patient and warm with children of all ages. I’ve babysat on and off since I was 15 years old and being around people and families comes easily to me – plus I just enjoy children and their fun-loving spirits! As for certifications, I am certified in adult, child, and infant CPR. I’ve also taken many first aid courses, and working in the ER has prepared me for all sorts of situations.
