My name is Kayla and I am the oldest of four siblings, so I have been babysitting since I was very young. When I was in Highschool I decided that I wanted to work with children officially. I began volunteering at Big Brothers Big Sisters with a young boy who suffered from bipolar disorder. This was a challenging but very important to me. After a year working with him I was awarded Big Sister of the Year for my efforts. During the summer of 2008 I worked as a one on one at a summer camp for children with severe emotional and developmental disabilities. most recently, I worked at a paraprofessional with a six old with severe Autism. I have also worked at as after school group leader and worked in daycare settings with infants and toddlers. I am working towards a degree in Child Development.
