Hello! My name is Samantha, and I am an experienced, energetic, patient, and caring babysitter. I became a babysitter to support myself as I went through graduate school in Boston, but I chose babysitting because I love children. As opposed to other kinds of work I could do, serving at a restaurant, working at a store, etc., babysitting is a chance to play and laugh with kids while doing something meaningful and helpful for a family. Now that I have graduated from school, I am a teacher looking for summer work. I bring a teacher's patience and interest in a child's future to my work as a babysitter. I have experience caring for young children ages 1-12, boys and girls. From May to August of 2015, I worked as a babysitter for 2 children, one 8-year-old girl and one 12-year-old boy. I picked the children up from school, prepared meals, Read more and did a little light housework. We spent a lot of time outside playing at the park, but also had a lot of inside fun doing art projects, reading, and playing games. From July to December of 2014 I worked as a babysitter for 4 kids, two 8-year-old girls and two 6-year-old boys, every day for a few hours after school. I made them snacks, supervised their homework, and then we would relax and have fun. We would go outside and play soccer or football, or sometimes go out to a local park or library. Sometimes we would stay in side and do fun activities like building with marshmallows and toothpicks, making cars out of cardboard boxes for a "drive-in" movie, baking cookies, or pretending to be spies. I also have a lot of experience with toddlers and young children because I spend a lot of time caring for my niece, my little sister, and the children of my close friends. Together we spend our time reading and telling stories, so that the children would learn new words and sounds. We also play with puzzles and write with chalk to learn colors and shapes. I studied music for years, so we also spend a lot of time singing and dancing. I cook meals for them, clean the house, and make sure they have a bath and brush their teeth before bedtime.
