Hello! For over ten years I've been involved in education in one way or another. Most recently, I taught at the University of Maryland while pursuing my MFA in Creative Writing. Before moving to Maryland, I taught at an Early Childhood lab school in Prescott, AZ, where I ran a 2-3 year old classroom. Besides a BA in Child Development, I also have Kindergarten experience, High School teaching experience, and a history with camp counseling and baby sitting. I love engaging children's creativity through art projects, adventures in nature, and play. When I worked in Early Childhood, I attended several conferences on Reggio Emilia style teaching, a philosophy that encourages exploration through hands-on, project based learning. Though no longer current, I've completed several Infant and Child First Aid/ CPR trainings over the years. In any care situation, I like to maintain a comfortable and stimulating environment where children feel both Read more safe and challenged. I'm happy to cook, keep a clean space, and take children on excursions outside the home.
