Hi there! My name is Annie and I just finished my first semester at Saint Michael's College :) I'm taking a semester off to earn money for my tuition and think I would make a great full-time or part- time nanny. I learned what it was like having the responsibility of caring for younger children early on as I have two wonderful younger siblings. I started babysitting on occasion my freshman year in high school and landed a consistent job caring for three boys (ages 3, 6 and 11 at the time) five days a week my sophomore year. I absolutely fell in love with the job and learned volumes about taking care of children over the three years I cared for them. Being a young adult, I was able to create a unique relationship with the kids where I was not only a voice of authority but also a Read more friend and playmate. I take my responsibilities very seriously and see my position as a baby sitter/ nanny as not just a responsibility to make sure they kids are safe but also as a responsibility to help the kids succeed. Weather it is sitting down and working through the ever challenging math homework, or playing soccer goalie in the backyard to practice for the big game, I am always willing to help out! In addition to being a nanny, I also worked as a DARE (Drug and Alcohol Resistance Education) Summer Program counselor for four years, where I worked with kids in age groups ranging from six to fourteen. My third year at the camp I was promoted from a counselor to a senior peer leader, giving me more responsibility and hands-on work with the kids.. I absolutely fell in love with working with kids, and am currently majoring in Psychology and plan to minor in early childhood development. With my experience as a nanny and the time I’ve spent building relationships with the kids I have worked with, I know I am well equipped with the skills to care for children on a full-time or part- time basis. Through the promotion I received working at the DARE summer program, I was required to take week-long courses in CPR and First Aid provided by members of various police departments in the Plymouth County, giving me the skills to ensure the safety of the children in my care. I have also volunteered the past two years as a U 11 girls lacrosse coach. I have experience in tutoring elementary level students, as well. I volunteered at the Archie T Morrison Elementary school weekly as a service project throughout my senior year in highschool. I'm super friendly and hope to hear from you soon!
