I am a 30 year old female, who is the oldest of three children. As the oldest child, caring for my siblings has been something that has always been part of my life. I am very responsible and organized and truly enjoy spending time with children. I have many younger cousins who have been an important of my life. I have provided child-care for my aunts and uncles in the past. Additionally, I babysat in the summer during my college years. I am someone that is easy-going, but at the same time, I am able to provide structure and authority when appropriate.  I have had significant experience caring for children, although I have never worked as a full-time nanny or full-time sitter. I have worked with children in many different roles, including working as a sixth grade science teacher and private academic tutor for students ages 12-15. I have taught sixth grade science for 1.5 years. I am currently teaching high school Spanish. I am a stepmother to two wonderful children, one is an 19 year old male and the other is a 11 year old female. I became a stepmother five years ago, and have learned a great deal ( and continue to learn) from my two wonderful, accepting stepchildren. Although I do not have children of my own, my stepchildren are obviously very important to me and view me as someone who always has their best interest in mind. Spending time with them has allowed me to understand children and teenagers in a better sense, and support them to the best of my ability. I hold a bachelor's degree in Public Health, and a minor in Spanish. I have always enjoyed working with children and adolescents, and have had the opportunity to do so, as a community health educator with Peace Corps Nicaragua. In Nicaragua, I provided life skills and health training for children and adolescents. In conclusion, I am extremely caring, creative, responsible, organized, and intelligent and would love to assist you in caring for your children. During the summer months, I have no other work commitments.
