I have always loved children. From newborns to teenagers, they amaze and delight me. When I was a psychology major at Tulane University, my favorite courses were those that explored how we grow psychologically and physiologically, from infancy through the full life span. I just love helping children learn how to maximize their strengths, overcome their challenges, and discover their special talents. I am in my late 40s and live in Annapolis with my husband and dog. I have three grown kids (step, technically) and three fantastic grandchildren. About five years ago, I was entrenched in a successful career as a nonprofit director and advocate in the mental health field. At a time when I was ready for a break from the long days, travel, and deadlines, I had the opportunity to help care for my grandkids. When they entered daycare, I decided to continue my career break and help Read more care for other people’s children while I explore other opportunities. For the past few years, I have been a nanny/babysitter for two families, caring for babies and school-aged children. I am looking for a new family to help part-time, short or long-term. At the same time, I am starting a small company that makes fresh, local, organic food for babies and toddlers. It will be a part-time venture with flexible hours for the next couple years, but eventually I will grow my company full-time (and then some!).
