All of the people I have been a nanny for have truly made me a part of their family, and have held true to the idea that to raise a child, it takes a village, and I LOVE being an integral part of that "village!" I have been a nanny for some wonderful families - a family in Portland, OR for 5 years with twin boys; a family in St Louis, MO with twin boys and a little girl for 3.5 years; a nanny share in Niwot, CO with two baby boys for nearly a year; several small stints for families needing care between transitions, and currently a family in Baltimore with one baby girl. My current nanny family is moving to Seattle, which is extremely exciting for them, but also makes me dread saying goodbye, because they have become part of my heart this last year... So their move Read more necessitates my need to find another wonderful fit! A bit more about me: I LOVE being a nanny, and I tried to work in a corporate office for several years once I finished my Bachelor of Communication, but the emptiness of that environment simply could not compare to the joy and satisfaction I receive from being a nanny. Nature walks! Zoo visits! Picnics! Hiking! Reading LOTS of books! Singing songs! Quiet cuddle times! Oh goodness, being a nanny has ruined me to any other profession, really. My husband and I have been married for 12 years, we have no children of our own, I love animals, I am flexible, consistent, and trustworthy. I am a firm believer in books, books, and more books, in lots of outside time, learning from nature, discovering bugs and flowers and trees, in running and jumping and lots of questions, in healthy boundaries, in learning respect for others, and encouraging teaching moments. I am humbled by families opening their homes to me, and I realize what a heavy, awesome responsibility being part of your family really is! Ideally I'd like to work 3-4 days a week, I can start early February, and I am looking for a communicative, emotionally intelligent, caring, fun-loving family who would treat me like an extension of themselves - a family willing to build mutual trust and friendship, and are not just looking for a warm body to "sit" their kids. Want to hear from any of the families I have worked for?? They would love to answer any and all of your questions! Looking forward to seeing if we'd be a great fit!
