My name is Alondra Thomas Velarde. I am 31 years old and I work as a teacher's aide with 4 to 5 year old autistic children. I have been doing this for two years. I am currently working at a summer school program with autistic 1st graders. I love working with youngsters with special needs. It is very rewarding to see the smiles on their little faces when they grasp a concept. In addition to working I am taking several classes so that I can obtain a dual teaching certificate in special and general education.
