I am a mom of four and new grandmother of one adorable baby boy. I have had many jobs since my teen years, but the common thread in all was working with infants and young children. I am a registered nurse. Although I have enjoyed working with children in many arenas, my favorite has been working with newborns both in the hospital, the baby’s home, and I have brought it to my own home. I have been a pre-adopt foster mom for over 45 infants, caring for them from the time they were discharged from the hospital until they were able to go home to their adoptive parents. With each newborn I marvel at the miracle that they are…that has never worn off. I am very comfortable caring for newborns and assisting parents as they begin their role as new parents. I can pass on “words of wisdom”. Many I Read more have learned through having my “own” 48 babies. I can help with breast feeding, consoling techniques, general newborn care, etc. Some things have worked consistently to produce happy babies that eat well and sleep well. I have playfully been referred to as the “baby whisperer” by multiple people. In the hospital, I have worked in both the normal newborn nursery, the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and in a transitional setting for newborns before they go home. I have also done baby visits to families after the newborn’s discharge from the hospital. These visits involved assessing the baby physically and how they are eating, sleeping, etc, weighing the baby and helping each family with individualized strategies for success in their home. I have comfortably cared for multiples both as a nurse and as a foster mom. I have resume, references, background check and health form for your review as requested. I do not smoke. I am flexible with hours to work with you when your baby comes home. I would love to have the opportunity to share this most special time in your life and look forward to meeting you and your precious little one. Resume available, as well as, background check and physical with negative TB test.
