My name is Mercedes Hill, and I am a young college student who loves working with children. I believe that there is nothing more precious than the growing, creative, and innocent mind of a child. One of the older children of eight I have always had a knack for childcare ever since I was young. I began working at a daycare in my hometown when I was 15 for volunteer hours until they decided to actually hire me when i came of age. With this position I grew to know and love at least 30 children of ages ranging from four to thirteen. I helped with homework, made snacks for snack time, got creative with indoor games on rainy days, and ensured outdoor games were fun and safe on the sunny ones. During the summer, we went on field trips to D.C. to see the monuments, train stations to learn Read more about and ride the trains, and of course the local fair. Often times, parents would ask me to babysit every now and then as well, and I jumped at every opportunity to spend more time and be more involved in the life of the kids.
