My son and daughter are grown and gone and have blessed me with five grandsons. So I have had experience with kiddos, plus I am the oldest of five children. I am retired now, healthy, active and participate at the Sr. Center for day trips, lectures, entertainment and exercise. The past three years I have helped a couple of families out a few days a week. During the school years I also tutored one day a week 2nd graders in reading. Doing this required a background check and being fingerprinted. In 2007 I took a course called Montgomery County Police Citizen Academy and have a Certificate of Graduation. A requirement for the course was to have a background check. I helped a back-to-work mom and greeted children at school, supervised snack, play time and started homework three days a week. Another family used my services to accompany kids from the Read more school bus, supervise snack, play time and entertained until Dad got home and started dinner. I enjoy encouraging reading and play so they will learn and be inventive. That's what it is all about. At this time I would prefer a couple days a week only.
