Growing up, I always attended home-based day cares and would always be helping out with the younger children. As I grew older I knew that working with children was something I very much wanted to do. From 13 years old to my junior year of high school, along with weekend babysitting, I would assist my aunt at her licensed home daycare before and after school as well as in the summers. Here I learned so much about the way children learn and grow including those with special needs. I have worked side by side with children who have Down syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Autism, along with many children with various behavioral complications. During my senior year I began working at a local day care center as an assistant teacher in the infant rooms (three weeks-one year). As time went on, I moved on to work with the toddlers (12 months-two years) Read more and due to short staff would often be placed on the other side of our building with the older children (two years-five years). My time there was a great learning experience, but in 2011 I met a wonderful family at this center who I would often babysit nights and weekends for. Soon, they offered me a nanny position for their three girls who at the time were one, seven, and nine, and have been with them ever since. Unfortunately, my time with them will soon be coming to an end, as the youngest just turned four and will be attending preschool in the fall. Along with caring of children I also have several years experience pet sitting and working with animals of all kinds, from scaly to feathery to fluffy. I have had many different pets throughout my life including dogs, cats, birds, chickens, ferrets, lizards and others. I m a quick learner who likes to be organized. I am someone who will go above and beyond what is asked when appropriate and would love the opportunity to work with your family. I will be available Monday-Thursday early mornings or afternoons and occasional weekend care.
