My name is Lauren Kinnaman, I am 27 years old and one semester away from completing my double major in Elementary Education/ Special Education. I have two siblings on the Autism Spectrum from severe to moderate. I have also had plenty of experience working with children/students of all ages with disabilities. I also have a clear understanding that every child's needs are different and I will rely on you to help me get to know your child so I can best help them. I know basic sign language as this was how we taught my brother with more severe autism to communicate. I am also capable of creating social stories and schedules for the children. I also willing to use whatever tools work best for the child to help them transition from one activity to the other - schedules and routines are very important. In addition, I received my 90 Read more hr. childcare certification in May 2010. I do not drive but I have reliable transportation. I own a dog that is blind and have had plenty of experience sitting other people's dogs. I love them. Whatever, I mess up I clean up. I try to clean green whenever I can for the safety of those around me however, I will use whatever cleaners the family wishes me to use. I am also very sensitive to those with food sensitivities and I abide by them strictly. I would ask that the parents let me know what their child can and cannot have given multiple situations.
