Hello my name is Jennifer V. Smith. I am a caregiver. I am so dedicated to this job and I feel passionatefor it because I have found this job to be so rewarding. I have learned from my experiences working with individuals with delays that they are truly gifted, kind and special. They need nurture, patience and deserve the same opportunities as any one else. They shouldnt be catergorized as "different" because we all are. And most importantly individuals with delays need to be reminded that they are capable of living a typical life as any one else. Inclusion in the community is a vital step and needs to be consistently done to ease any anxiety or self doubt the person may be experiencing. I am the type of care giver to ensure this happens. I am the motivator, the friend, sister, the motherly instinct, and patient understanding one. I have recieved my certification as a Direct Support Professional as well as Cpr and First Aid training. I previously provided daycare at St. Annes Maternity home in 2007. I am a mother of 6 children, one of whom has special needs. I am an older sister of 4 siblings and I am dedicated to helping any one I cross paths with to leave a positive imprint in that persons life.
