I became a caregiver for adult clients (residential assistant) a little over year ago, officially, but I grew up around special needs individuals as a child. While hanging with my dad at his work while he did his caregiver duties, I had many hours of 1 on 1 interaction with his residents. I began volunteering at 15, did that for a few years, then decided to get paid for it. I became a caregiver because it is a very secure job, pays well, and allows me to continue hobbies into my work day. (Art, reading, etcetera). I do realize caring for children is a whole different ball game, however. I've been told I have a good sense of humor, that I'm creative and have good ideas, and I promise that I am on time one-hundred percent of the time. Honesty is my policy.
