Hi! My name is Moriah, I am an experienced sitter in Washington D.C /Maryland area. I have been working with children in a variety of settings for the past 9 years. I love working with children, it’s truly a labor of love. As a recent graduate from Howard University, child development is a large part of my educational background. My upbringing in Massachusetts is where I developed my passion for working with children. I have experience as an in-home personal care provider for children with special needs. This hands-on experience not only reinforced my educational background in mental health and disabilities but gave me a strong sense of compassion and comfortability when working with children with special needs. My 3 years’ experience as youth counselor at the YMCA allowed me to delight in children’s energetic and inquisitive personalities. I was responsible for creating and implementing daily schedules for children ages Read more 5-13. This included arts and crafts, reading, serving dietary balanced lunches, games and outdoor activities. For many years I’ve been teaching dance to students in various settings including community centers, after school programs, and private dance studios. These are great experiences that allow me to serce as a positive role model and mentor. Bonding and mentoring with my students as a dance teacher has led me to many babysitter positions over the years. Parents often appreciate my ability to teach, play and challenge children’s minds. Sowing seeds in the lives of children is the most rewarding job.
