I am currently 24 years old and a certified Secondary English Teacher. I have been babysitting since I was about 11 with my younger brother. I have been a certified lifeguard (meaning CPR certified too) for 6 or 7 years, and a swim instructor for 2 years. I recently came back from traveling overseas doing missions work, working with children/youth in every country of my trip (11 countries over 11 months). I love making up games, tutoring, playing make believe and building forts with children. I see their energy level can become destructive if focused on the wrong areas, but they can be incredibly creative and resourceful when they're channeled in the right direction. We hired Karilyn as a babysitter for three 6-9 year old girls of out of town guests to our wedding that did not include children. Karilyn had the experience and maturity to inspire confidence in both us and the parents that she would be able to handle children she did not know for 8 hours. She kept them entertained and engaged and they had a great time - much more so than their cousin who was a flower girl and regretted not having the fun they were having.
