I have babysat for numerous neighbors, relatives, and friends. I occasionally volunteer for the Pathways Tutoring Program, in which I assist inner city kids with after school help. I was also a junior counselor at two different summer camps, assisting 3-9 year old kids swim, tie their shoes, walk safely to camp events, eat lunch, etc. I adored every single kid because they were all different, and I was able to talk to them all about different things. I am currently Lifeguard certified with the American Red Cross, so I have knowledge in CPR and First Aid. I know how to do the Heimlich maneuver on infants, kids, and adults. Every time I babysit, I am able to understand what the child really enjoys doing and try to find activities such as hiking, building a fort, or playing games, that interest him/her.
