Hi! My name is Mckinnis and I am a college student at Towson University majoring in dance performance with a k-12 certification. I really love kids and have an extensive background in babysitting and nannying particularly with newborns, toddlers, and young elementary school ages. I also have a lot of prior work experience in general, If you have any interest in hearing about that. In applying jobs, I'm really looking for something more long-term with a family I can grow with, and I'm looking for as many hours as possible! I take night classes. I live on my own, and have to pay for school, so any and all opportunities to do so are appreciated. My priority as a caregiver is safety! I was CPR and first-aid certified two years ago, and intend to get recertified soon. My second priority is building a close relationship with your child. I think Read more it's important that the child feels comfortable around me while still maintaining that line between babysitter and parent. I don't want to be your child's parent. While I do believe it's important to remain firm with kids, I don't think it's my place to make rules. Lastly, I think it's important to stay active and really fine tune motor skills, especially for young ones. I think it's important to teach kids to take care of their bodies and stay healthy! (But not to an extreme of course- they're just kids.) I also think kids should be given an opportunity to tap into their imagination and develop creative skills.
