I recently moved to Chicago (Rogers Park neighborhood) from Maine, where I worked as a Coordinator of Community Gardens and a Food Pantry for the past five years. In the past I have worked extensively with adults and teens with disabilities, and have worked in childcare of various ages and abilities, though I am new to seeking work online. I am fully vaccinated and continue to be incredibly COVID cautious. I am naturally drawn to nurturing others (whether children, plants, animals, etc.) and during the pandemic have really missed being able to be around kiddos, so I’m looking forward to finding occasional or regular hours helping to care for yours. I am also fine with pets, food preparation, etc. I am certified in CPR and First Aid. I sold my car when I moved to the city but am licensed and may have access to a roommate's new, safe, reliable Read more vehicle if needed. I have a fairly laid-back approach with children, encouraging them to explore, being silly together, and honoring their ability to make choices and consent (for example, asking before hugs and respecting if they say no!).
