I have been very enthusiastic about working with children my entire life. I started at a young age by babysitting my baby nephew and from then on, I knew it was what I wanted to do. My middle school and high school years were riddled with babysitting jobs that built up my experiences and helped me decide what I wanted to do for my future career. I am currently pursuing Elementary Education at the University of Maine and work at a daycare for ages 6 months - 7 years, during the school year. My duties at my job included meal preparation, planning and engaging in activities, cleaning, and general childcare. I love my job, even when it had proven difficult. I have dealt with almost every situation in my work setting that could prove to be a problem and have gained a lot of perspective on how to deal with Read more problems in a calm and efficient way. I love the environment that kids bring with them and I always look forward to planning activities and engaging in them. I believe it is important to be patient, caring, and attentive when working with kids and I look forward to any opportunity where I am able to implement these skills.
