My name is Emily Harris and I am a junior at USM studying communications. I am currently working at an unpaid internship every Friday. The non-profit organization is called Sexual Assault Response Services of Southern Maine. I am part of the education team and we go to schools in York and Cumberland counties for grades K-12 talking about personal body safety up through sexual assault. I have also been babysitting for two children for about 5 years, but they are starting to get to the age where they don't need a babysitter. I've been babysitting since age 12 and I absolutely love kids of all ages. I took the Red Cross Babysitting course to become certified when I was 14. I am very active and love doing things with children instead of just sticking them in front of the TV! There are other jobs out there, but I have a Read more passion for working with kids and I hope to someday work in a field where I can either teach or work with children. My experience is mostly with older kids, but I have been watching younger kids ever since my cousin had a baby in April.
