Hello! My name is Maude M. I love working with kids, and am pursuing a BS in Elementary Education at the University of Maine. I'm hoping to teach grades K-3 upon graduation in December, and I would love to find a job that allows me to work in the childcare field. I've worked with children through various volunteer opportunities at my hometown church, through summer camps, and also in Orono as a Black Bear Mentor (Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mid-Maine affiliated). I worked as an afterschool rec counselor with Orono/Veazie Parks & Recreation last year with K-5 students. We did homework, played games, swam, and ensured children's safety. I've also substitute taught in schools in my hometown, and held a long-term sub position working with grades 4-5 last spring. Last semester I was a nanny for a family in Orono for a 4th grade child. This year, I've also Read more volunteered with 4th and 5th graders at Orono's Gardening and Cooking Club, where students learn about local nutritious food, and how to cook and grow it! I've been babysitting my 3 and 4 year old cousins since both were born, and also occasionally babysit around the Orono area. My CPR/First Aid certification recently (last month) expired, but I would be willing to re-certify as necessary! I have been fingerprinted through the State of Maine, and would be willing to provide a copy of my CHRC card upon request.
