Hi there! I'm Amanda. I graduated from Lee University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and have 10+ years of experience caring for children. I started babysitting my younger siblings, cousins, and neighborhood kids as a teen, and also worked part-time as a Child Care Specialist at Blackberry Farm Resort in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee where I used to call home. Shortly after graduating college, I worked as a Permanency Social Worker for the state of Maine's Department of Health and Human Services. Serving children and families in Maine as a DHHS caseworker and also as a Behavioral Health Professional has not only provided me with valuable work experience, but has taught me a great deal about child safety, behaviors, and family dynamics. Aside from the mental health field, I have also worked as a substitute teacher for grades K-12 as well as a teacher assistant Read more in a special education classroom at Orono Middle School in Maine. Because I have worked in the school system, I have completed a criminal history records check (CHRC) and will be happy to provide proof of any and all certifications and licensure. In my free time, I enjoy going on adventures with my husband and pooch, doing arts and crafts, and reading a good book at the beach! While I like to cut loose and have fun, safety is always my first and foremost concern. I would love to meet your family and discuss my qualifications with you in more detail. I look forward to speaking with you!
