I have over 20 years experience in childcare both on a personal and professional level. I have 3 sons and 1 daughter who are now young adults. I also worked from 2001-2015 at a licensed childcare facility where my responsibilities included providing care from infants to school-aged children by implementing age-appropriate curriculum and activities that foster development physically, emotionally, socially, cognitively, and linguistically. I enjoy working with all ages doing both group activities and working one-on-one with a child. It is very important to me that a child feels safe and can trust their caregiver, and that the caregiver provides an atmosphere that allows for the child to feel secure at all times. I have taken numerous courses and have received certifications related to this field (including CPR and First Aid). Presently, I am taking classes to attain my B.S. in Psychology with an interest in studying diverse cultures. My Read more work experience has been that both parents and children find me approachable and an advocate for any concerns they may have to help them find answers and encourage problem-solving. The child's best interest is what I have always had in mind and continue to do so. Parents have always felt comfortable leaving their child in my care and I have received a lot of positive feedback from parents, children, and co-workers.
