Hello! After working as an RN for 30 years, I have recently "retired" and moved to Readfield ME. My nursing licensure remains current and in good standing, along with my CPR/AED (adult, child, infant) certification. I completed the mandatory yearly child abuse clearance training in September, and had Federal Government fingerprinting and background clearances for my former job at the VA. I have also worked as a child/adolescent psychiatric nurse. On a personal note, I have 3 grown stepdaughters, and 5 grandchildren, ranging in ages from 3-7. Along with time spent with my own family, I have spent many wonderful hours over the years, babysitting the children of friends and neighbors. So, I am not a "professional" babysitter or nanny. I am a mother and grandmother that enjoys seeing the world through the wonder and joy of a small child's eyes, and being able to help them learn and grow. Read more I would not be a good fit for you, if you tend to prefer your child look at a screen all day. Although I do agree with an age appropriate fun movie or program to help with learning. My time with your child, will about things such as: reading, listening to soothing music, aromatherapy, stretching excercises, playing games, arts and crafts etc. He or she will be met at their age or ability level with kindness, patience and encouragement. Depending on your away from home schedule, I will be happy to get your child up in the morning, or bathed and ready for bed in the evening. I am comfortable with giving medication, if your child needs routine meds, or just has a cold. Any snacks or meals, will be prepared, keeping any allergies, sensitivities and preferences in mind. We do have a dog and 2 cats in our home, so if your child has pet allergies, please keep in mind, it would be impossible for me to always have 100% pet hair free clothing. (LOL). If you feel I could be a good fit for your family, I look forward to meeting with you soon! The number of children I am comfortable with sitting for, will depend on their ages and individual circumstances. Thank you, Deborah
