Hi! I'm Dakota and after careful consideration and constant badgering, I've chosen to be North instead of South. Since I've gone over everyone's favorite question, I'd love to supply you with some more answers. I am currently a sophomore at Wayne State University studying philosophy with the intention of attending Law School afterwards. I grew up in Sterling Heights and currently live in Clinton Township. I spent my whole life playing travel basketball, softball, and track so I am always up for a pickup game of any sport. I have an older sister and a younger brother and I totally ride the middle child train. I love to eat, laugh, spend time with my family and obsess over my 2 dogs. I have 24 cousins just from my dad's side of the family (my mom's an only child) and of those 24 I am the sixth oldest. Growing up, myself Read more and my older cousins were like built-in-babysitters. I started babysitting my younger brother and cousins when I was around 12. I have always been fiercely independent so I was eager to finally do the watching and not have to be watched. I noticed I had a knack for babysitting when I found myself acting as a good mediator and having a sense of strictness while still having fun. I began getting random babysitting jobs from my mom's friends around the age of 14. I was used for date nights, school functions, or errand running. At that point, the youngest child I had ever been responsible for was 4 years old. When I was 15, I decided to become CPR certified. That was when my mother's friends felt comfortable leaving me to watch their toddlers and infants. I had a steady babysitting job from the age of 16 til 18 before I went away to college. My mom's best friend had two 3 year old twin daughters and I babysat them every Friday-Sunday night for about 6 hours. I attended Purdue University in Indiana for my first year of college last year which was when I received my first nannying job. I nannied for a young couple 4 days a week for their 10 month old son and 3 & 5 year old daughters. I was responsible for taking and picking them up from school, doing laundry, cleaning the house, running some errands, and keeping the baby with his normal routine. I became accustomed to the nanny lifestyle after being with the family for 7 months. I was very sad to leave them, but excited to come back home to Michigan. In addition to being CPR certified, I am also First Aid certified and bilingual (English/French).
