I graduated from Chippewa Valley High School in 2015. Currently I am an Elementary Education Major at Oakland University. I have been babysitting for 9 years. I have also been a Sunday school teacher for 7 years. I love working with children of all ages. Kids are refreshing and imaginative which is why I consider babysitting the luckiest job to have. I am an avid reader and writer and I love spending time outdoors. I often incorporate a lot of reading time and outdoor play in my babysitting jobs because I consider them essential parts of growing up. I also like to plan crafts, games, and activities for each babysitting job because I like to learn about what interests kids and I want to create a comfortable, fun environment for them to get creative. For younger kids I like to sometimes bring a backpack of toys and games from my Read more home so they can have something new to play with. I really enjoy acting and have done a few plays, skits, and Shakespeare camps. I use acting in my job by playing imaginative make believe games that are fun for both the kids and me. I'm a very clean person and as part of my job I encourage the kids I work with to organize and clean their space, especially when we are done playing in a room. Currently, I am babysitting an adopted 11 year old girl who comes from an abusive past. She is emotionally impaired, struggles with anxiety, and has PTSD. Through babysitting her I have learned how to remain calm in stressful situations, how to soothe a distressed child, and how to have patience in difficult situations. I have learned a lot through helping her and working closely with her mom. I am open to working with children who may struggle with similar situations and hope to be as helpful as possible to all parents and children no matter the situation.
