By May 2019, I will be the proud owner of a BFA in Theatre Performance earned from UM-Flint, and I will begin pursuing an MA in Arts Administration in Sept 2019. Throughout my years in college, I have had a few opportunities to work with children as a stage manager at Flint Youth Theatre (now known as Flint Repertory Theatre). From those experiences, I have developed a great appreciation for how imaginative children are. I find that my most gratifying work in the field of theatre has been alongside youth. I am 22 years old, and I hope someday to be a mother. A lot of kids grow up around younger children in the family, and are tasked with supervising them. Many of my friends had this responsibility, and they seemed to feel burdened by it. I was always jealous, because I really wanted to help take care of children Read more but never got the chance. I want to have a child of my own someday, and I would love to have the privilege of helping other parents care for theirs. My boyfriend's sister had a baby girl in September 2018, and I already love her to pieces. I understand that caring for children comes with many different responsibilities. I am prepared to assist in any way I can.
