Mission: To provide the best quality care for children by being patient and understanding of all needs. The reason i decided to go into caregiving is because I love kids. I am now a mom myself and enjoy our three year old daughter so much, and am hoping to have more children. It’s a wonderful thing to watch kids grow. I believe in patience and understanding when caring for a child. I also believe in boundaries and discipline. I will never spank or fiscally hurt a child. I don’t believe in that. We do time outs, and most times kids want to listen to you, but act out for attention. I hope if given this job, I will bring fun and exciting activities for the children. I will do my best to assist the children in any way possible. Experience: • June 2010 - August 2010: I worked for Mark Read more Johnston, he has two children (ages at time were 7 and 10). I worked eight hour periods four to five times a week. I would be responsible for homework, transportation to extra curricular activities, and preparing meals. (810)359-8186 • May 2011 - August 2011: I worked for Lynn Heithoff, she has five children (ages at time were 4, 5, 7, 9, and 11). I usually work three days out of the week in periods of seven hours at a time (sometimes more depending). I was mainly there to help kids eat dinners and watch kids while the mom transported kids to extra curricular activities. I always helped with bath time. (810)385-5093 • April 2015 - June 2015: I worked at Nu Nu’s Nursery Daycare. I was used to caring for a classroom of children anywhere from four to twelve children at a time. I was responsible for planning out activities, making sure all children were accounted for, feeding children, cleaning bathrooms and rooms everyday, children had used. I loved being a teacher and caregiver there except for the chaotic scheduling. I can deal with a varied scheduled, but everyday i would have to call to see if i was working or not. The hours were just okay I’m looking for something more stable. Other Qualifications: • CPR Certified. (infants and adults) References: • Lynn Heithoff 5409 Baywood Dr. Fort Gratiot, MI 48059 (810) 385-5093 • Mark Johnston 5715 Babcock Rd. Lexington, MI 48450 (810) 359-8186

I work in retail management, hired her in November emphasising my dire need for care of my kids since the holiday season would leave me super busy, and no time to be searching around for additional sitters. She lived close by, kids seemed to like her, and she agreed everything I requested in a caregiver, I thought, why not?! So many issues, not sure where to start. (1) Brought her daughter every time she sat for kids, not a problem except I learned her 3-year-old had no bedtime routine at home, she didn't go to bed till 11 pm most nights at home=she was up & active after my kids went to bed at 8 pm: My daughter wouldn't go to bed/sleep. Major problem since she had school next day! (2) She was very slow to respond to requests for care, sometimes notifying me only mere hours before she was needed. More than once I recruited a co-worker for care since I just couldn't wait on her slow response, I needed to ensure care would be there! (3) Lauren often didn't show up at appropriate time/or not enough time for me to make it to work on time. The worst was when I needed her on a Tuesday at 12:30 pm, yet she arrived at my home at 12:30 am, Wednesday! My husband who has to be at work at 1pm was late, calling me at work in a panic, leaving him scrambling to find another sitter at the last minute for that day! All-in-all I'll just chalk this one up a good lesson in following your instincts, since something from the start said she wasn't the right fit. But with a pending post-holiday promotion, prior caregiver incapable of sitting due to pending surgery, and the holiday shopping season already in full swing, I was simply eager to have someone to care for my kids, I figured we could work the rest out as we got yo know one-another more...but we didn't! Not a good bet.
