I love children, and children usually love me. I have learned that they appreciate structure and guidance when included in the process of creating and using it. I love themed times (like clean-up time, or night-light time) that teach them appropriate things such as putting away toys or preparing for bed/story time. I haven't met a child yet that hasn't taught me something and added to the fabric of who I am, while I was also guiding them. They are such little geniuses waiting to grow up and conquer the world in their own way. I love them! I am a currently a graduate student and active community advocate, who has had a lifetime of experience caring for and advocating for families and children. As the oldest on both sides of my family, my experience with babysitting started early. I later took those skills and worked through college as a Read more house sitter and baby sitter for families throughout the school year and summers. I have worked with special needs cases in Social Work and group homes. Those experiences led me to become a licensed foster parent and eventually care of children from infants to age 11 years old, while their families got back on their feet. After all of the children had been reunited with their families, I took on an active roll in advocating for children and families in my local community and began pursuing a higher level of education while working full-time. I have taken child care courses, First Aid and CPR certifications, and Mental Health First Aid. I currently have a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Graduate Certificate in General and Public Administration. My work experience literally spans from across the globe, and from for-profit to non-profit employment. The ideal situation would be steady babysitting, or nanny work, that would allow me to work flexible hours, with some weekends for your date nights. I have my own car and residence. Lastly, while my profile answer says I am "not comfortable with pets," it is only because I am allergic to certain kinds now. However, I grew up around animals and reptiles.
