Hello! My name is Danae Brownell, and I am a recent graduate of Grand Valley State University with majors in speech-language pathology and Spanish. I am searching for a part time position for the summer, as I am planning to attend graduate school at Michigan State University in the fall. I have previous experience as a babysitter, where I worked specifically for two different families. I began watching the first family's children when I was 14 years old, soon after their third child had been born. I continue to watch them when I have the opportunity (when I'm home from school, etc.). As previously mentioned, this family has three children. They are now 12, 9, and 7 (two boys and a girl). I have also watched two boys (ages 9 and 11) full time for a summer, so I have had experience with nearly all ages. This past summer, I Read more volunteered in Peru at a school for children with disabilities, and I also spent time in Mexico (as well as near home in Rockford, MI) volunteering at hippotherapy centers for children with mental and physical disabilities, as well as anxiety disorders and pragmatic deficiencies. In high school, I spent time year round after school as an assistant in a kindergarten classroom, which allowed me the ability to implement creative ways to learn. I have had experience working with adults with disabilities as well, and through that position, gained many certifications including: CPR, First Aid, Mandt training, Recipient Rights, and Medication Passing.
