I am 51 years old, and I found Sittercity.com while checking out my new AARP membership. I have provided childcare for many children, including those of friends and relatives. It's something I began doing as a teenager; I always had a heart for children of all ages--still do. I often assist new moms with with information on handling newborns and helping with lactation, since I've gained valuable insight over the years. As a foster parent, I cared for an infant girl--whom I'd planned to adopt, but bureaucracy and a multitude of red tape in New Jersey's system, put an end to that. To become a foster parent, I had to take specialized training and become certified in child CPR. as well as have a clear understanding of home safety and child care.
