No two people in this world are the same, and kids are a constant reminder that this is true. I have been babysitting and working with kids in different variations for more than half of my life, and it has always been a most rewarding experience. From my time in more recent years working at Walt Disney World, to my teen years, teaching kindergartners how to swim, I've come to understand just how special even the smallest interactions can be. Kids can remember the tiniest details, and are constantly soaking up information like little sponges. Treating them with respect is of utmost importance, for how they've felt and what they learned will stay with them forever. I started babysitting at age 14, just after Read more taking a class on how to care for infants, and different ways of dealing with kids of all ages. At age 16 I started working in a child care center of a local gym, caring for children ages 3 months to 12 years old. In addition, I taught swim lessons, helped with birthday parties and summer camp, all of which where run by the Recreation Department. Throughout my life I've also been a part of the Girl Scouts of America, making my way from Daisy to Senior Scout, and as I got older I helped with summer day camp and sleep away camp. As a junior and senior in high school I was also a chaperon for YMCA Camp Storer located in Jackson, MI. We took the 5th graders from the Wayne-Westland School District to sleep away camp for 5 days where they learned about wild-life, how to preserve the wilderness, to help clean up after themselves, and how to cook and serve others. With each opportunity I have gained wonderful experiences that have helped my outlook on life today. I am currently certified in adult, child and infant CPR and First Aide. I have an excellent driving record, and am borderline OCD about cleanliness, especially when cooking. I like to keep good health, and enjoy the outdoors very much. My most recent full-time job was working as a small group adventure tour guide, driving across the U.S. giving the Classic American Road Trip to people of all ages.
