I have always enjoyed working with children and youth because they are full of life and offer unconditional joy and love. It is amazing to watch their learning process, and there is rarely anything as rewarding as watching a child or youth "get" something, whether it's a math concept or something as small as an understanding that they can control the person in the mirror. They have taught me a lot about being creative, living in the present, being patient, honest and sincere with myself and others, and appreciating the smaller joys in life. Children, especially younger ones, are very dependable on adults to take care of them, and are greatly influenced by the role models that they have around them. I have been babysitting since I was in high school, and most recently I taught math to low-proficiency math students at a middle school in Denver.
