I grew up in Minnesota just north of Minneapolis and was raised by parents who taught me the importance of advocating for and caring for children at all times. I graduated from a public arts high school where I studied Literary Arts. I then went on to college in Illinois at Knox College where I just recently finished a degree in Creative Writing and Studio Art. In the middle of college I took a couple terms off to live and work in NYC, while there I did several internships at Scholastic children's publishing company and have an interest in continuing in that field in the future. I started babysitting over ten years ago and for the last year I have been volunteering on and off for the Minneapolis Children's Hospital where I take care of kids ranging from the first months of life to teenage years.
