I like to consider myself a child at heart. I recognize that children are less developed and can't keep up with the same complex social cues that us adults are all caught up in, and I absolutely adore that. I grew up with neighbors who each had 1-3 children who I would babysit, teach lacrosse, or just play with. I recognize how children perceive the world in a way that blurs the line between reality and imagination allowing them to become invested in their activities and create more joy out of nothing. This perception diminishes as we age and by spending time with children and living in their world our minds become more open to that perception.
