Hi! My name is Narjis (she/her), and I recently graduated from Carleton College with a degree in Chemistry and Economics. I'm now working as a research fellow in the Oncology department at Mayo Clinic, which I've been loving so far! Kids have actually been one of my favorite stress-relievers since college. I was part of Project Friendship, which pairs college students with local kids, and I grew up in a joint family with 14 cousins (I was the oldest of the bunch!), so I've had plenty of practice navigating a full house. I've also babysat for several professors' kids over the years. I would say kids tend to like me a lot (I am applying to medical schools, and I am hoping to be in pediatric cardiology, so it's pretty important that kids like me haha)! I try not to be passive since I genuinely enjoy their company. I usually Read more like to do activities they enjoy (I make them teach me if they enjoy doing something I have never heard of!). I have also baked with my previous kids. I also have tutoring experience, so I'm happy to help with homework too. I'm easygoing and flexible, so I'm happy to help out with last-minute babysitting needs when they come up. I live in a safe, welcoming apartment complex — there's even a dog park and lots of friendly dogs around — so if you ever need to leave your kids with me while you host something at your place, we can definitely work that out. I am a Certified Nursing Assistant, and my BLS and CPR certifications are also upto date.
