Hi, my name is Emily Brinkman and I am graduating from Macalester College this May. I’m a Psychology and Educational Studies double major and am interesting in pursuing a career as a teacher. I am also CPR and First Aid certified. I have been babysitting since I was 12 for various friends and neighbors with kids ranging from a few months old to elementary school age. I've been summer nanny for elementary age kids and I've worked as a counselor for 5 and 6 year olds at a summer day camp. I have infant experience as well through a relationship I've built babysitting for a St. Paul family with kids age 3 months to 3 years old. In addition I’ve had the opportunity to volunteer on four separate occasions at a summer camp for kids with special needs. I got to work one-on-one with a wide variety of kids with Read more different levels of emotional and cognitive development. The uniqueness and different needs of every child has taught me responsibility, compassion, and how to be positive and have fun in every sort of situation. I’ve had a lot of experience with kids and with that experience comes knowledge about how kids work and how to balance excitement and fun with safety and expectations. I love reading books, singing, playing games, and pretty much any sort of fun and imaginative game I’m sure your child loves. I can also cook and I have practice in getting kids to go to bed even when they don't want to!
