Family life has played a large role in the person I've become today. Coming from a family of six, i've learned much including the importance of encouragement, appreciation, and especially servitude and humility while caring for my elderly grandparents during high school. I went to college at UW-Stout for 3 1/2 years studying design before taking up nursing school in the twin cities. Quality of life is very important to me, and partially why I decided to change career path. Nursing requires knowledge, intuition and compassion, and nurtures patience, diligence, discipline, accountability, empathy, and leadership. I find these skill sets invaluable because they translate into so many other areas of life. I'm quite active, and currently training for a century (100 mile) bike race this spring to raise money for Diabetes research. I played softball for fourteen years, and am a recent but avid rock climber- I love it! I Read more have sat for newborns, including my niece-now five months old, up to twelve year olds, and am CPR certified by the American Heart Association.
