While I did do some babysitting in my teen years, motherhood has served to be the prime source for my caregiving experience. I am a mother of two, an 18yr old daughter, who just graduated high school at the top of her class magna cum laude and earning a full scholarship to college this fall. Through education, band, church, community service, and a mother who was always at least 2 steps ahead; she has become such a well rounded, well mannered, respectful young adult whom I could very easily go on and on about. Our relationship is based on communication, and I seem to have a certain knack in this regard. My son 14, is a bit on the ornery side, with a quick witt, and in addition to the voices/ faces he portrays in order to elicit laughter, posesses comedic timing that is truly a continuous delight! He also Read more is literally a genius with an iq of 138; he struggles with adhd. He has a hard time reading social cues, and struggles to make friends with his peers as he seems to relate better with adults/older kids; or the exact opposite and does well with much younger kids. I can say It has been a rollercoaster ride finding what works for him behaviorally, but again with communication and a sense of humor he also is very well rounded, well mannered, respectful young man, of whom I expect great things in his future! Look, turning out decent humanbeings in todays world, is no easy feat. With everything at the tip of a finger; keeping their hands and minds busy is key! I find I cannot express enough how effective communication and a sense of humor have played a tramendous role in the character, personalities, and the solid relationships I have with my children. I'd like to help, if I can do that for more children. I love kids, and I am GREAT with dogs, I can do light house cleaning, cook, help with homework etc. I have reliable transportation and cell service for communication, I am local and I'm ready to work.
