Do you have an important last minute meeting? Have a ticket purchased to a special event and your child gets sick? Want to plan a date night or a weekend get-away? Leaving for a day/night or even longer can be a reality, if you trust the person you are leaving your children with. I come to the child-card field as a university degreed early childhood, special needs educator and mother of four (two boys and two girls with an age spread of age of eight to 25 years). I'm not scared away by labels, such as, ADHD, Autistic, Learning Disabled, or Anxiety, as both of my boys have required applied intervention techniques through childhood. I interact, teach and respond to children at their developmental level. I use a love and logic approach to discipline, giving recognition to what kids are doing well. There hasn't been anything that a little problem Read more solving, intuitiveness and ingenuity can't resolve. Kids will say and do the most unbelievable things and to have humor to work through the unexpected is my forte. With my keen observation skills of children's play I've learned that the simple, unstructured, imaginative play is what they do best and with great enthusiasm. I have a knack for knowing what things are important to mom to have done around the house with child care when she is away. I am organized, dependable, think fast on my feet and flexible. My expertise with children comes from my 25 years of leadership roles doing the following: Church nursery coordinator for care of infants - age five while parents enjoy prayer and quiet time, boy/ girl scout leader during my children's grade school years and dance instructor for little girls as I have danced my entire life. Preparing meals, cleaning house, getting children to and from an activity, homework practice, bath or bed routine is no problem. I can made cleaning/organizing a play space seem fun because of the reward of mommy and daddy being amazed and happy. I have a warm and friendly demeanor. I am able to develop quick rapport with children, as I take interest in what your child knows or is excited about. This is a good place for play and interaction to begin. I encourage the use of kind words when speaking and cooperation among siblings. I model and role play appropriate healthy behaviors that make spending time together a memorable experience. Each child comes to me with unique qualities and is a blessing. You child needs are important to me!

Lauren P.

First and foremost, she is a wonderful person. The genuine care and intent of her performance surpasses all whom have had the chance to care for our little Nora. She takes the role of a care-giver seriously, and is one of my daughters best friends. The attention to detail and adaptability of Ms Barb is something I wish to endorse her on, She's a friend to our family and will forever be welcome in our home. -Chris and Lauren
