I'm a student and big sister to three siblings nine years old & younger. I place emphasis on structuring time around intellectual growth and adventure, drawing inspiration from my Montessori education and experience with the Missouri outdoors. I have extensive volunteer experience, including working as a crisis counselor for two wonderful St. Louis organizations and (recently) becoming involved with immigration advocacy. This informs the way that I approach childcare-- with an open mind and patient understanding. I am proud to have a childlike mindset that enriches my academic pursuits; I'm a voracious reader and am always enthusiastic about sharing my passion for learning. The last time I babysat for my siblings, we went on a walk around the neighborhood and identified bugs, then returned home for a snack and some experimentation with DIY batteries and a basic lesson on electricity. I'm intuitive on reading kids' cues; if they're interested in adventurous discovery, I'm sure to hold their attention. I'm working on First Aid and CPR certifications. I'm comfortable with all pets and have lived with 10+ dogs ranging from a Shih-Tzu to a Great Dane. I speak a conversational Spanish. I'm a trained vegetarian cook and enjoy preparing meals.
