My name is Molly, and I am a current sophomore at WashU. I grew up near Boston, MA with a twin brother and older sister. I am studying Psychology and Marketing though I have no idea what I would like to do after graduation (luckily I have some time). I went to public school until 11th grade when I transferred to a small private school. I was very involved in my youth group and spent most of my time after school with them. I have always been creative and love to learn. I also have always had a love of working with children and enjoy every minute (even the tantrums) I spend with kids. Starting when I was 13 I worked as a mother's helper after school and during the summer. Since then I have babysat and nannied for numerous families as well as worked as a preschool day camp Read more counselor and as a swim instructor. As a babysitter, I have experience with newborn babies as young as only a couple days old, all the way up to preteens. I like to be hands-on and technology free (as much as possible). I love working on puzzles, board games, anything creative or outdoors. This past summer I was a nanny for a family with two boys, ages 4 and 7. Every day I would pick them up from school or camp, entertain them for a couple hours, help with homework, make dinner and some nights put them to bed. I am comfortable and happy to do any of these responsibilities. The preschool I worked at was at a Synagog in my hometown. Over two summers I worked as an assistant to a teacher in a classroom with children 2-5 years old. My job was to tend to the children's needs (help open lunches, facilitate bathroom visits, keep them entertained, etc) as well as help design activities such as crafts and science experiments. During my time as a swim instructor this past summer at a day camp near Boston MA, I worked with children 4-12 years old. I taught 6 classes a day, including working with children with special needs. I loved seeing their skills develop and grow. The best part was when I was able to help a child push past their fear of the water and learn to love it. (As a swim instructor, I am lifeguard, first aid and CRP certified) I am happy to answer any questions or concerns as well!
