I've loved kids and being around kids since I was one myself. My mom was always caring for kids when I was younger, from a 2 year old teacher at the preschool/daycare I attended, to a nanny for an infant and 4 year old. I started "helping" her out when I was 8, and I never stopped. I started babysitting on my own when I was 12, and have had experiences with newborns through school age kids, as many as 5 at one time, including a special needs child and a position as an infant caregiver in a daycare center. Training I've completed includes the Safe Sitter course at age 13, Early Childhood Education class in 10th grade, an infant/toddler workshop in 2009, and numerous first aid and CPR courses. (Though I am not certified at the present, I plan to go through re-certification soon.) I am a creative, energetic, Read more and fun-loving sitter. I enjoy doing arts and crafts projects with kids as well as learning activities and games. (I love any excuse to look up new activities on Pinterest to try out!) I also love to read, and help instill a love of reading in a child. I have been married for three years, but have no kids of my own yet. I regularly volunteer in the nursery at my church, and help our kids' pastor with special events. I have been working in retail for the last year, but have decided to return to my child care roots.
