I have a very high level of compassion and patience. I love reading stories, playing imaginative games and exercising creativity through drawing, dancing, painting or playing music. I am a full-time student and very serious about that commitment in my life. I love the learning experience and am very comfortable helping with homework as well. I have been on-call child care support for my nieces (now 14 and 7 1/2) since their infancy, taking over school days for several weeks over the past four years. I am very comfortable with infants and toddlers. A more recent job gave me the opportunity to sit five kiddos ages 18 months to 5. We were a team of two sitters but, I felt like I got to take the lead and really get to know the siblings and cousins because I was with them for four half days. I have been in two Read more different positions to teach dance and Zumba to small groups ages 4 to 12 and felt very rewarded by the experience. I enjoy cooking and healthy meal preparation. I have spent several years in the health food industry and am comfortable with myriad nutritional needs and restrictions. I have, on more than one occasion, cooked dishes for soy, gluten, dairy, egg and corn allergies...all in one! I am an amateur musician who had several years of formal music lessons outside of school from age 3 to age 12. I am comfortable with lesson practice though I don't read sheet music. I can offer guidance for running scales, chords and note flashcards. Most importantly, I like to have fun. I like to talk about being polite and kind to people alongside play. I truly enjoy giving the "lessons" important in life as they arise organically in daily interaction and I am always patient and respectful when having these talks with kids. I want to learn about your house rules and help maintain consistency and hopefully bring my own flourish of creativity, too.

Sarah was great with my highly hands on active six year old. She was flexible and fun and got a thumbs up from him which can be tough. For a good amount of time she was able to keep him engaged and get through a routine, which again can be tough. I look forward to the next time.
