Hi! I am a 36 year old college graduate with an Art degree and have been living in the Flathead Valley for 12 years now. I have worn many hats here in Montana, including that of a Program Coordinator at FVCC, Art Teacher at the Stumptown Art Studio, a Glacier National Park raft/hiking guide, and most recently a Wildland Firefighter on the Flathead Hotshot crew (to name a few). I was a childcare giver in Burlington, VT at the YMCA Infant and Toddler Center for a year after graduating from the University of Vermont back in 2006, where I enjoyed taking good, loving care of 16 infants and toddlers with three amazing women. What a memorable year that was- I truly fell in love with the little ones, and I learned a great deal about early childhood development and how to create a nurturing and sweet environment for them. I Read more would love to care for infants and babies again in an effort to supplement my budding career as a freelance writer. I truly believe that it is incredibly important to encourage creativity, foster confidence, take note of the beauty of the world around us, and constantly be learning, and I aim to instill all of this a child's early years of a development. My passions include yoga (I'm a certified yoga teacher), skiing and trail running, and basically soaking up nature. I am a proud auntie and hail from Massachusetts, where I was a lifeguard for 10 years on the Atlantic Ocean and also a number of lakes, ponds, and pools. Which reminds me... I am still First Aid and CPR certified and have held these certifications since I was 15. I have dealt with numerous emergency situations as an oceanfront lifeguard and firefighter, including water-rescues, heat stroke, and injuries. I was certified in Swiftwater Rescue for 6 years and Wilderness First Aid as well, but those have since expired. I find myself surrounded by babies, toddlers, and pre-school aged kids suddenly, as more and more friends are reproducing at a rapid rate! And, I love it. I feel as though I am very well-rounded, mature, competent, motivated, caring, loving, and people tell me I'm great with kids. I am fully confident that I could bring tons of joy, care, and love into your child's heart! Thanks for your consideration.
