Hello, My name is Alicia Parker and I have been a care giver for many years. I started babysitting when I was just a little girl at the age of 12. The neighborhood recruited me left and right. Also in that same year my cousin Caleb was born and my aunt, his mother, was 21 and living in our house. I helped raise him for the first 2 years of his life and almost every year after that a new cousin was born. I'm the oldest out of 13 cousins. I have helped family members care for there kids for years and still continue to do so. I have recently moved back to NC from Kansas City, MO. My last two years in Kansas City I was a fulltime nanny two a sweet Indian family who had two precious girls. Zoish was 7 and her younger sister Zenia only 2. Read more My daily schedule probably looked a lot like a stay at home mother. I arrived at there house at 7 and both the mother and father would leave for work. I would immediately get Zoish ready for school and feed both her and her sister some breakfast and made sure they took they vitamins and medicine. After dropping off Zoish, Zenia and i would head back to the house. Because she was so young most of our time consisted of going through the alphabet and her first numbers. Helping her to recognize colors, animals, etc. During nap time i would do some studying of my own, reading, or watch a tv show or movie. If whether was nice we would make many trips to the park or pool. If i had errands of my own to run I would take Zenia along for the ride, she loved to get out of the house, and so did I. My favorite days were during the Summer when all us girls could spend time together and either go to the art museum downtown or on a picnic. Sometime i would take them to the mall and get them a little prize for their birthday or first day of school present. My younger sister, age 20, is now their babysitter. I still keep in touch with them and miss them very much.
